The future of women's professional lacrosse is here!
The inaugural draft of the United Women's Lacrosse League took place April 13 and Central New York was well represented. Marcellus grad Nora Barry (Florida) was drafted in the seventh round (26th overall) by the Long Island Sound while Carthage grad Kaliah Kempney (Syracuse) was drafted in the seventh round (32nd overall) by the Boston Storm. Kara Cannizzaro ICazenovia) was the 4th round pick of the Boston Storm.
Michele Tumolo (third overall) led the long list of Syracuse University graduates who were drafted.
Congrats to all the players with local ties who will help launch pro women's lacrosse!
