HEADGEAR ISSUE

The debate on outfitting female lacrosse players with protective headgear has been a hot button topic lately. The New York Times recently weighed in on the issue as Florida became the first state to require high school girls’ lacrosse teams to wear protective headgear in March.

Locally, Bishop Ludden/Bishop Grimes girls lacrosse players are the only Section 3 team to voluntarily wear headgear which was the subject of a Syracuse New Times story last year.
